Glue Arts and Want2Scrap: Live Simply

Hi, y'all! Allie here with a quick, fun card featuring bling from Want2Scrap, buttons from Buttons Galore, stickers from SRM, and papers from Momenta. Of course, you can't create a card without some great adhesive, so I am pleased to tell you about my experiences with Glue Arts.

Untitled

In addition to a number of fabulous products from our great cross-promotional partners, I was really excited to try out the new GLUE ARTS Multidirectional Glue Glider PRO. I was in love with the original one, but the new one really is EVEN better! I used the High Tac refill with the purple PRO Cartridge Handle.

I love not having to mess with rolls of tape that have to be loaded just so, just pop in the cartridge and you're ready to go. You can even swap it with others, if you need something different, no need to use it all up before exchanging. Super cool, right?

And a card just isn't ready til it sparkles, it just isn't! I used some self adhesive gems in a beautiful shade of blue, and I cut apart some beautiful Bling Borders designed by Nina Brackett to add some flourishes.

In the end, I'm very pleased with this simple, but colorful and fun card.

Live Simply

I used the Glue Arts applicator to adhere the background paper. I also used it to add the butterflies, which were fussy cut from extra paper. I added a circle that I had die cut with a circle die from Spellbinders Paper Arts, and embellished it with a sticker and some buttons. I glued the buttons on with more adhesive from Glue Arts.

I embellished the butterflies and the bottom of the card with the bling. Quick, simple, fun!

I used the Mr. and Mrs. Moustache set to create a quick and simple little Hello card for a friend who is currently overseas.

I used ClearSnap inks with my AJVD images, carefully lining the stamp up and stamping several times.
I then trimmed out a small square of my stamped background to add to my card.
I finished this simple card off with the Eiffel Tower (QuicKutz) and some BLING from Want2Scrap.
The striped paper is from Momenta, and I hand cut the pennant shape.

You'll enjoy a new sale section on the website ~ over stocked on some sets.

Recipe: Cupboard Soup with Cornbread Muffins

Cupboard Tomato Soup with Cornbread Muffins

I love to make my Cupboard Tomato Soup. A lot of times I use leftover or frozen veggies, and whatever meat I have leftover from dinner. Most recently, these are the ingredients I had on hand. This made for a very hearty tomato soup.

Can Tomato Soup
One Can Tomato Paste
One Packet French Onion Soup Mix
One Can Green Beans
One Can Carrots
One large can Pinto Beans
Three Cups Jumbo Macaroni
1/4 Cup Potato Flakes
8 cups water
1 pound browned ground pork (Optional)

Bring water to a boil. Add pasta and French Onion Soup Mix. Cook for about 3/4 of the desired time. Add tomato products. Bring to a boil and turn heat down, and let simmer for about ten minutes. Add vegetables and meat. Thicken with Potato Flakes.

Cornbread Muffins

Cook as directed. To achieve a nice crown on your muffins, preheat your oven. Mix milk and egg separately, and add to dry muffin mix. Stir. Mix will be lumpy. Let sit while oven preheats. Give a quick stir before scooping up some mix into your muffins. Light, airy, never dry - perfect cornbread muffins.
I like to buy a lot of my nonperishables through Amazon. I have an Amazon Prime membership, which gives me free and expedited shipping on LOTS of items. I stock up on basic mixes, like Cornbread Muffins from Jiffy - which is great for muffins, loaves, corn cakes, corn dumplings, and more!
The Cupboard Tomato Soup served my family of three more than three times, bringing it to well under a $1 dinner. One muffin mix makes six nicely sized muffins. Baked muffins are around 15 cents each. All in all, Cupboard Tomato Soup with Cornbread Muffins is a very inexpensive meal, and plenty hardy!

note - canned and boxed goods contain quite a bit of sodium - if you are watching your salt intake - you may want to make some substitutions with low sodium options - fresh is always best - but sometimes, you use what you can...

RECIPE: Sausage Biscuits on the Fly

Make two for less than one dollar.
Eat that McDonald's!

These are EASY to make!

I used Cub brand "Grand" style biscuits. Here's a tip. Make sure your oven is COMPLETELY preheated and ready to roll. Take the rolls out of the fridge only when you are ready to crack them open, then go straight into the oven. They don't stick, they don't overcook, they're simply marvelous, and they're great the next day if you store them in the fridge in a sealed bag. I try to always have some in there for QUICK breakfasts. Usually we have some at dinner, and save the rest for breakfasts.

I also purchase pre-made sausage patties, also the store brand. If you're super thrifty, you could pre-make your own patties from some store brand sausage that you pick up on sale.

For the cheese, once again, store brand processed cheese spread - a small square can actually be spread. Obviously, you can use whatever cheese you like!

I microwaved the sausage patties according to the directions for two - using the 50% power option. While that was going on, I sliced my biscuits and spread on some cheese. Once the patties were done I popped them on to the biscuits, then heated my sandwiches on high for 30 seconds to melt the cheese.

You have breakfast for two, in under five minutes, for less than $1.
